Instamatch app download: what the APK file is, how Android treats it, and why iPhone and old versions behave differently

The Instamatch app does not come from a store. When you search for the download — as Instamatch, Instamatch 365, the "game app" or the APK — you end up with a file, and that file will be the cashier for every rupee you put in. This page does not offer the file. It shows what your own phone tells you about any file with the name, and where to stop.

Can you download the Instamatch app from Google Play?
Not the exchange. A Play Store search for the name in India returns one app called Instamatch, and it is a dating app in the Dating category. No betting exchange is listed under the name. So every Instamatch download that is about cricket and money is a file from outside the store — an .apk — and the checks below replace the ones a store would normally do for you.

What should the APK file look like before you install it?
Three things are visible before anything is installed.
- The size in the download bar. An exchange app with live odds and a cashier weighs tens of megabytes. Anything under a megabyte is a downloader: it pulls the real app later, and you never get to see what arrives.
- The name on the installer prompt. Android's final confirmation carries a title and a small picture. When that title reads as some other product — a "cricket live" tool, a "balance" app, a dating app — press Cancel.
- The permissions it wants. A betting app needs the network and, if you want them, notifications. It has no use for your SMS, your contacts, or accessibility services that let it read and tap your screen.
A file that passes all three has told you what it can. One that fails any of them has told you enough.

Why does Android warn about the file, and when should you stop?
Two warnings look alike and mean very different things.

The permission in the last row does not reset itself. Your browser keeps it until you open Settings, go to the special access list under Apps, and switch the browser off under unknown apps. Leave it on, and the next file that arrives through the same browser installs without a question.

Is there an Instamatch app for iPhone?
Not as a file. iPhones do not install .apk files at all, so an "Instamatch APK for iOS" cannot exist. What pages offer under that label is one of two things:
- a shortcut to a web page, added to the home screen from Safari. Harmless: it opens an address in the browser, and nothing is installed;
- a configuration profile you are asked to download and approve in Settings. Do not. A profile from an unknown source can add its own certificate or route your traffic, which is far more access than any betting site needs.

Why does an old version stop working, or refuse to install?
People look for an older Instamatch 365 build — sometimes from a file catalogue, sometimes because a group says an older one had fewer limits. Two Android rules decide what happens.
- 1A file signed by a different builder will not install over the app you have. The installer gives up with an error rather than replacing it. That is not a fault; it is your phone saying one builder made the first file and someone else made this one.
- 2An older version will not install over a newer one. The only way is to delete the app first, which removes everything it kept on the phone.
Why a particular old build stops letting people in, we do not claim to know for Instamatch. In general, an app built as a shell around a website asks a server where to go, and an old copy can keep pointing at a place that has moved.

Does the 365 download differ from the Instamatch download?
Only in the address it came from. "365" and "99" are parts of addresses, not versions, and a file from a page with 365 in its name is checked exactly the same way. Why the number is not a version.

After it installs: four switches to check
- Open App info and note the version string, so you know which build you have.
- Switch off "Install unknown apps" for the browser you used.
- Look at Permissions once more; turn off anything beyond network and notifications.
- Open the app. Its first screen should ask you to sign in or register — nothing else, and certainly not for a transfer.

Is the Instamatch app download free?
Installing an app costs nothing. If a page asks for money before you have even registered, it is not a download page.
